Rosacea & Redness
Rosacea is a skin condition that affects parts of the face. Symptoms include facial flushing, redness, broken capillaries, sensitivity, spots and thickening of the skin. A common yet poorly understood condition it can be difficult to manage effectively without knowing its exact cause although in many cases the condition is hereditary.
We do however know what triggers the flare ups of this condition:-
- Deficiency of ‘good fats’ within the body weaken the barrier function of the skin making it difficult to eliminate the risk of infection.
- Lack of vitamins A and C can also serve to make the skin more sensitive and reactive especially to changes in climate, radiation and UV.
- Lifestyle factors such as poor choice of diet, inadequate beauty regime, stress, alcohol, smoking, environment and underlying chronic medical conditions also contribute to unwanted flare ups.
